Ingredients for 1 cake tin
250 | g | White spelt flour |
75 | g | Milk |
125 | g | Cane sugar |
3 | Eggs | |
150 | g | Sunflower oil |
1 | package | Baking powder |
700 | g | Cherries |
1 | teaspoon | Salt |
Preparation
- Sift the spelt flour together with the baking powder through a sieve.
- In a large bowl, mix well the sunflower oil, milk, cane sugar, eggs, and salt for about 7 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is formed.
- Gradually add the sifted flour to the mixture and mix well until a smooth batter is formed.
- Wash, pit, and halve the cherries. Gently fold the halved cherries into the batter until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into a round cake tin and smooth it out.
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (static oven).
- Place the cake tin in the preheated oven and bake the cherry cake for approximately 30 minutes, until it is golden brown and passes the toothpick test.
- Remove the cherry cake from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
